The Merida Big Nine 300 is an entry-level performance mountain bike for recreational riders that want some performance specs on their bike. Equipped with the 2019 RaceLite 6061 Aluminium frame which is a lighter and more advanced frame than previous years. The frame is lighter, yet stiffer because of additional heat treatment and double-butted wall thickness. This means that you get a quality frame at an affordable price.
The Big Nine 300 has 29” wheels and 100mm travel suspension fork with a lockout. The suspension fork from SR Suntour offers 100mm of travel to smooth the bumps on the trail and this is ideal for riding more efficiently on smooth surfaces as well as climbing out of the saddle. If you are riding on smoother terrain and want to conserve some energy, the fork lock out feature can be accessed simply from the top of the fork leg. It is also equipped with Shimano disc brakes for reliability regardless of the conditions and improved control.
The Merida Big Nine 300 is a versatile mountain bike at the start of the hardtail mountain bike performance range and will help you take that next step with your riding. The Merida Big Nine 300’s lightweight and durable frame, lockout on the suspension fork and quality range of Shimano parts, make this bike a fun and efficient bike to start testing yourself on the dirt.

In September 1972, Ike Tseng (1932–2012) a brilliant engineer and visionary founded MERIDA. While visiting the USA, Ike saw a sign in a bike shop that stated refusal to repair any Taiwanese bikes, due to the unfavourable quality. As a result of this he set out to fulfil his dream of high quality bikes made in Taiwan and formed the MERIDA Industry Company Ltd.
The MERIDA name has three syllables Me-Ri-Da and it is the company’s intention to manufacture beautiful, high quality bikes that enables everyone to reach their destination enjoyably. MERIDA created a world-leading bike factory but Ike still wasn’t satisfied, so in 1988 the MERIDA brand was launched. Ike’s vision is still very much a part of MERIDA, manufacturing all kinds of bikes from children’s bikes to world-class professional road and mountain bikes for the Bahrain- MERIDA team riders. Everybody has a different journey, and everyone can benefit from a MERIDA.
